The Key Challenges
Working on a development of this size has its own challenges such as co ordinating with other trades and meeting complex schedules as well as sometimes specialist installation working over underground structures such as Car Parks and Storage areas.
Overcoming The Challenge
We were involved in the development from a very early stage working with Durkans on site personnel in particular Peter Dempsey and Ray Rafferty.
Our Contracts Manager Eoin Ennis reviewed the design brief and locations for the various different types of Railings and gates required in meetings with them and suggested a number of base designs and products to be worked from we provided locations where similar products had been used. The criteria were appearance, safety, minimal maintenance, and value. After initial Selection of design, we then submitted drawings for the clients approval outlining the variations dictated by site factors and various different fixings required for walls structures and ground conditions. These included specially designed fixing detail for Railings to the Creche area which was installed to the car park roof.
Products Supplied
All material Plasgalv® coated.
1100mm High Flatbar Railing to the Creche Café and internal Areas.
Main Entrance Gates and 2 Pedestrian Access Gates 2100 mm high with Railings to sides.
Hydraulic closers were fitted to many of the gates. Subsequent Automation and integration into the building access control systems was by others.
210 metres of 1200mm high Solid Round Bar Railings to the site perimeter fixed to existing walls.
Positive Outcomes
Yet another successful collaboration between Irish Fencing Services and Durkans with a big demand for the Apartments in this prime location with great facilities on site and excellent transport links.
